| Things I Think I Think®: 1. Looks like things are starting to get better in our country. The Peso is on it's highes level in 6 years, the budget deficit this year is well below the projected deficit, jeepney fares were reduced, the tax take is good (is this good news?) and our economy is actually growing. You see bro, contrary to what the papers & tv are telling you, there's some good things happening in our country. 2. Just when I was about to be in a very good mood, politics rears its ugly head. Congress, again, has failed to approve the national budget. That's 2 years in a row now. They can't agree on who will get the bigger pie. These morons. 3. Last week, I was lamenting the ineptitude of whoever who tried to assassinate Rep.Jaworski with a carbomb. And now, Rep. Bersamin of Abra wasn't so lucky. As mush as I wanted to personally slaughter all politicians, I was actually saddend by his death. His death proves a universal truth in the Philippines; that nobody is safe. 4. With age, comes being interested in politics & current events. You'll see. Just wait 'til you're 28. hehe 5. According to Forbes Magazine, Henry Sy is the richest Filipino with over 4 billion dollars or was it 9 billion? Itay, ako ang nawawalang anak mo! hehe 6. The most fun activity I had this week is doing our wedding website. Wow, it's so fun reminiscing the events that happened these past few years. 7. God give me the courage & the strength to do what I'm going to do on Christmas day because I'm going to need it. hehe | | |

| Things I Think I Think®: 1. I'm so loving my new phone right now. It's a Sony-Ericsson W850i. With this phone, who needs an iPod or a Zen or a Zune?
2. While I was watching the boxing matches of this year's Asian Games, my conclusion that Thai boxers are dirty, sore losers & unsportsmanlike were reinforced. I saw one Thai fighter tackle his opponent and another clotheslines & elbows his. All of these happened with the referee issuing no warning at all. What brazenness. 3. With the Philippines having 85 million citizens, all we can come up on the Asian Games are 3 measly gold medals? That's a gold medal for every 28,333,333 Filipinos. Yep, we live in the land of mediocrity. 4. And looking at the sad state of Philippine sports on the global stage, it's even sadder the international sports governing bodies won't allow politics into the sporting disciplines. That's one area where we can be really competitive on a global scale. Sigh. 5. Odom injured. There goes the Lakers 1st place standing. 6. Rep. Dodot Jaworski's AUV bombed? Too bad he survived. Filipinos could've used one less politico. 7. Whatever happened to the Cha-Cha train? Got de-railed I think. Interesting/Aggravating Travel Note of the Week©: It's really Christmas. If you thought traffic couldn't have been worse in the Metro, you're wrong. It's gotten worst these days. 'Tis the season for traffic. | | |
| Stereotypes A couple of days ago, I read from a friend's (a nursing alum) blog how she & her husband despised AB students back then. As an AB alum, I wasn't offended. Probably because we Artlets have our own stereotypes too. I will share some of them with you. Engineering - Mga mukhang T-Square. Walang maganda. Pero maraming pogi. Science - Grabeng dami ng mga cute. Kaso mga geek at no fashion sense (dahil sa uniform). CAFA - Mga taga-Dunkin' Nursing - Parang science. Pero mas grounded. Pharmacy - Di ba science din to? Educ - Mga teacher. Mga mukhang matatanda. Commerce - Lahat yata ng nag-aaral dito intsik. And of course, we think we're the hippest, most fashionable & coolest Thomasians of them all. Not because of the uniform but more of the attitude. We're not all books like the other colleges. Although we have our toxic moments, we know how to let it all hang out. I know the other colleges hate our guts because we talk loud, dress differently, rally, sit anywhere, smoke, drink & what have you. And to tell you the truth, we don't care. | | |
